Passover Silver Seder Plate
ADDITIONAL INFO
Silver Seder Plate, beautifully embossed with floral and foliage patterns, marked "HZM" (Hazorfim) and "925". This decorated silver Seder plate consists of two main rims; the inner rim is embossed with the Hebrew inscription "פסח" - "Passover", and the Hebrew inscriptions of the six symbolic Passover Seder foods; Maror, Chazeret, Charoset, Karpas, Zeroah, and Beitzah - each with a special significance to the retelling of the story of Passover - the exodus from Egypt - which is the focus of this ritual meal. For each symbolic food is a pre-formed space and a small glass bowl. The outer rim is beautifully decorated with scrolling foliage ornaments and cartouche-like convex ovals.
Hazorfim was established in 1952 by three young immigrants - Yosef Merdinger, Wilhelm Kerner and Michael Steinmetz - that set out to build a new life in the new country of Israel. The three had learned the art of hand-crafting silver and perfected their skills recreating classic European designs of silver pieces and Judaica.
