Silver Cut Works
ADDITIONAL INFO
Two silver cut works of Jewish customs, both marked. The first depicts a Jewish wedding; a couple under the canopy, canopy holders and musicians. In the background houses and the blessing: "ברוך אתה ד' משמח החתן עם הכלה" ("Blessed are You, Lord, who gladdens the groom and bride").
The second work depicts a father blessing his son at the Sabbath table. The mother is seen near the table set in honor of Sabbath. In the background is the blessing: "ישמר ה' כאפרים וכמנשה" ("May the Lord protect you as Ephraim and Menashe").
Both works are marked 925 for silver fineness and "ע.ד." (E.D.) which might refer to the Bezalel School student Ezra David.
It is possible that the two silver cut works were intended to be embedded on book covers.
