Silver Kiddush Cup
ADDITIONAL INFO
A silver Kiddush cup decorated with geometrical patterns. The inside of the cup is decorated as well. The cup is marked "HaZorfim", "925S".
Hazorfim was established in 1952 by three young immigrants - Yosef Merdinger, Wilhelm Kerner and Michael Steinmetz - that set out to build a new life in the new country of Israel. The three had learned the art of hand-crafting silver and perfected their skills recreating classic European designs of silver pieces and Judaica.
The Kiddush cup, a main utensil used in the sanctification of the Sabbath, is usually made of silver, sometimes inscribed with words in honor of the Sabbath.
