The Dreidel bears four letters from the Hebrew alphabet: "נ" (Nun), "ג" (Gimal), ""ה (Hey), "ש" (Shin), which together form the acronym for "נס גדול היה שם" (Nes Gadol Haya Sham - Hebrew for "The Great Miracle Happened There").
